Range-topping eight-seat Land Rover Defender 130 unveiled

Land Rover has revealed the newest member of its revamped Defender lineup – the eight-seat 130.

Like the 90 and 110 models, the 130 is based on its classic counterpart, with a modern facelift and makeover.

The seat configurations come in a 2x3x3 setup, and can be folded down to make way for 2,291 litres of boot space – enough to turn the Landy into a upmarket van, or simply to ferry around pampered pooches.

To account for this extra interior space, the Defender’s frame has been extended by 340mm.

Power comes from a three-litre, six-cylinder engine, with a choice of two petrol and two diesel formats; the P300 and P400, and the D250 and D300. The P400 kicks out the fastest 0-60mph speed, at 6.3sec.

Staying close to its all-terrain, go anywhere roots, the all-wheel drive Defender is able to navigate to any What3Words location – something that is particularly useful on the farm.

Orderbooks are open now, and prices start from £73,895.
