Webinar: Transition Summit series – The road to net zero

Farmers Weekly’s five-part Transition Summit series takes a closer look at all the issues related to preparing to adapt your farm business to survive and thrive as farm subsidies change and new environmental schemes are introduced.

In our second Transition Summit, farmers and experts across the industry come together to focus on our biggest challenge as a planet, as a country, and as UK agriculture: Climate change.

For many people outside farming, the focus is often on reducing emissions – especially from livestock.

Those of us in agriculture, though, know that it’s much more complicated than that. Unlike many other industries, when it comes to climate change UK agriculture has the potential to be part of the solution.

The NFU has ambitious plans for farming to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 – a full decade before the government’s own 2050 net zero target.

Our summit asks how that goal can be realised, and what it means for you:

  • Where to start
  • What tools to use
  • Who has most to gain
  • How maximising the opportunities from carbon can help to secure a more sustainable future for your farm business.
